It is an exciting time for the hemp and cannabis industry. As the country and the world continue opening up to the positive and pleasurable aspects of this plant and its derivatives, we are able to enjoy more and more products and experiences that enhance our mind, body, and lifestyle in the process. From the health benefits of CBD and CBG to the enjoyment of THC (wherever legal,) and so much more, there is a great deal for us to discover.

Delta 8 is a very intriguing new part of the cannabis experience. And Formula 787 is at the forefront. With products such as our new Delta 8 vape cartridges and many more items in our lineup soon to be announced, we are very excited by the enjoyment and promise of Delta 8’s potential. We know our Formula 787 fans will love it.

What is Delta 8?

It’s first important to understand what Delta 8 is, and why it is capturing the attention of so many people.

Delta 8, or delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 8 THC) is an cannabinoid which offers feelings of pleasure and relaxation to those who enjoy it. This effect is similar to the more well known THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, but with a more subtle euphoric state rather than an extreme high. In fact, they share the ‘THC’ moniker for good reason, as they operate in a nearly identical manner to human beings.

What is the difference between Delta 8 THC and Delta 9 THC?

Delta 8 and Delta 9 both bind to the endocannabinoid system of the human body. They both produce a feeling of relaxation and pleasure because they both have a double-bond within the chain of carbon that they comprise of. It is this double-bond that scientists believe causes the feelings of enjoyment that THC is known for.

The difference between Delta 8 and Delta 9 is in the location of the double-bond. Delta 8 has its double-bond on its eighth carbon molecule in the chain, whereas Delta 9 has its double-bond on its ninth. This may seem like a miniscule difference, but it creates a noticeable result. Both Delta 8 and Delta 9 provide calmness and relaxation, but Delta 9 THC creates the ‘high’ that it’s known for. Whereas Delta 8 creates a feeling that is in-between Delta 9 and CBD – perfect for those who desire a more subtle high.

If you love Formula 787 CBD, you’ll love our Delta 8 line.

So why choose Delta 8?

There are several excellent reasons for Delta 8’s growing popularity. The most valuable reason to try Delta 8 is its ‘goldilocks’ feeling of comfort. It’s not too little and it’s not too much. Just as we would enjoy a smooth and casual drink with friends, an elegant cocktail or glass of wine at the end of a long day, so too would we desire the relaxing and moderate effects of Delta 8. It provides the pleasure of cannabis but without the heavy high. We like to think of it as the perfect compliment to any fun time.

A note about legality

Like many cannabis products, Delta 8 has had to go through the rigorous process of mainstream acceptance, legal hurdles, and bureaucratic oversight. This coupled with a lack of understanding by lawmakers means that Delta 8 is not yet legal in all states. Rest assured, Formula787 is 100% compliant. We have COA’s throughout the chain of custody (available on our website, While we do expect this to change in the near future, we nonetheless ask our customers to look into the legality of Delta 8 in their own state. At the time of this writing, Delta 8 was not permitted in the following states, but this list may be different at the present moment:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Iowa
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • Rhode Island
  • Utah
